Antimicrobial Hygiene Certification
"Antibacterial Hygiene Certificate" is an approval logo issued exclusively by QPT to prove that the space is certified as a safe and hygienic space by our laboratory.

The epidemic has raised the public’s awareness of environmental hygiene. In order to meet the requirements and protection for public health of public, the laboratory has launched a brand-new "Antibacterial Hygiene Certificate" service to certify that the site meets the requirements of the laboratory for antibacterial Hygiene.

Provide one-stop service:

For the purpose of helping companies achieve a continuous and effective clean environment, the laboratory has tested the number of bacteria in the samples of the field and monitored the data before and after disinfection and cleaning to prove whether the disinfection and cleaning work is effective. In addition, companies can make good use of the "Antibacterial Hygiene Certificate" logo to publicize that their environment has been regularly and appropriately disinfected and cleaned, thereby greatly enhancing the confidence of employees and the public.

The laboratory will take samples on-site and conduct tests in this laboratory to reflect its sanitary conditions. The test items include air bacteria test, surface bacteria test and common air pollutant test.

  • Air bacteria test: reflect whether it is effective to kill bacteria in the air.

  • Surface bacteria test: reflect whether there are any remaining bacteria or bactericidal efficacy after the surface disinfection and cleaning work is completed.

  • Common air pollutant test: reflect whether the pollutant content in the air meets Hong Kong standard.

"Antibacterial Hygiene Certificate" is valid for 12 months in the first year, and our laboratory will conduct regular tests and inspections every quarter. The renewal is valid for 24 months, with regular tests and inspections every 6 months. It also provides test reports and trend chart to assist companies in analyzing their sanitary environment to ensure long-term satisfactory disinfection results. In addition, with on-the-spot inspection, the overall results are more accurate.

The "Antibacterial Hygiene Certificate" of each applicant has an independent certification number, and the list of certified companies will be uploaded on the website of our laboratory for public verification.

Antimicrobial Agent Effectiveness Test
Quantitatively test designed to determine antimicrobial effectiveness of incorporated antimicrobial agents.

Surface Swabs Test

  • Irregular / Rough Surfaces

Exposed surface areas such as in office spaces, communal areas and general public areasAfter swabbing, the samples are delivered to the laboratory. The swab is inoculated on microbiological media for analysis.

Target Microorganisms:

  • Staphylococcus aureus (金黃葡萄球菌)

  • Legionella pneumophila (退伍軍人菌)

  • Yeast & Mould (酵母&黴菌)

  • Kiebsiella pnemoniae (克雷伯氏肺炎桿菌)

  • Pseudomonas aeruginosa (綠膿桿菌)

The results are more qualitative.

Antimicrobial Agents Effectiveness Test

  • To measure the bacterial growth on surfaces, the samples are left for a period of time (usually 24 hours) after inoculation by different types of bacteria

  • To compare the bacterial count between treated and non-treated samples for specific contact times

  • To permit quantitative evaluations of antimicrobial activity (Percentage Reduction)

  • To provide important information about the antimicrobial performance of a product

  • Common Disinfectants: 70% Alcohols (~99.9% reduction), Ozone, Bleach

  • Antimicrobial agents effectiveness depends on:

    • Intrinsic biocidal activity

    • Concentration of the disinfectant

    • Contact time

    • Nature of the surface disinfected
